Sneak Peak: Ananya London SS11 Collection

Anu Mirchandani's glamourous take on the kaftan puts her label Ananya at the top of the most wanted list of celebs spending their Summers in St Tropez, Capri, The Hamptons or Miami. This sizzling collection includes delicate kaftans and dresses in this seasons' hottest colours, stunning evening wear in warm gold and yellow hues along with numerous styles in shimmering white and ivory.
Fortunately for us in Dubai, we live by the beach so we don't need to wait till the Summer. Though our Fridays can no longer be spent at the uber chic Shoreside Beach Club lounging on a day bed soaking up some Vitamin D while the men play (who has bigger) Boules, sipping rose' wine and puffing on a Grape Mint shisha.. there's no reason that us ladies can't still look our best at.. hmm well wherever we decide to spend our weekends now..
The collection will be hitting the stores this Spring so be sure to get yours before they fly off the railings.

Who says you can't look fabulous when it's all hail and snow? Design guru Christopher Bailey has yet again knocked us off our heated seats. (Ok we're lying. It might be Winter here in Dubai but you know we're lounging in our Kain Label Ts, Topshop khaki shorts and Giuseppe sandals. But we're empathising with our cold ones in London.)
So how did Bailey do it? Well he's worked within our winter staple colour palette of earthy tones, brought back old favourites like the leg-lengthening flared trouser, given us even more variations of the trench - decadently embellished and fur trimmed for this season - and presented all of it neatly wrapped up with leather obi belts cinched at the waist.
If only this collection would be available during our trip to London for Fashion Week in Feb... Sigh.

We're lusting over: Bionda Castana shoes

Roisin
We've been fans of this hot London label since they launched in 2007 with their sophisticated yet oh-so-glamourous shoes worn by the likes of Alexa Chung, Ivanka Trump and Charlize Theron.
Starting with their name Bionda Castana (which translates into Blonde Brunette in Italian), designers Natalia Barbieri and Jennifer Portman are all about contradictions. They manage to perfectly fuse chic yet comfortable, luxurious yet understated and fashion forward yet classic, elements into their shoes using only the finest of materials. This design duo certainly know what the modern woman wants.
While we rushed to put in our orders for these Roisin studded, laced, suede booties, the entire Fall/Winter 2010 collection left us with little doubt that Bionda Castana will soon be a staple in every woman's shoe closet (and so say Browns, Harrods & Boutique 1 in case you weren't already convinced!).

Trend: The Return to Romance

So for all of you who, like us, thought we had to mourn the loss of the Bohemian romance era and instead embrace the new trend of minimalism that came marching towards us on the S/S11 catwalks.. fear not. The models at Milan Fashion Week have been sashaying down the catwalk in flouncy maxi dresses in ethnic prints as seen at Etro, chiffon dresses in putty palettes at Alberta Ferretti and a refreshingly white collection (infused with the occasional animal print of course) at Dolce & Gabbana. Spread the love.

Love Her Style: All Things Alexa

With her laid back, girl next door looks and playful humour she manages to entice all around her, even succeeding in breaking into the US with her quirky show on MTV. From her own collection for Madewell to the infamous 'Alexa' bag by British powerhouse Mulberry, we're loving anything this quintessential Brit chick will do.

London Fashion Week S/S11

Still pining over Christopher Bailey's latest collection for Burberry Prorsum S/S11. With studded biker jackets layered over delicate silk-tiered mini dresses this was rock chic at its best.
